The news buzzing around Louis Vuitton's future advertising campaigns right now is that Madonna is out to make way for some fresh faces. The European style pre-fall starring with Missy Rayder were a hint of this change in direction, but the recently confirmed faces of the luxury brand are even more of a shift.

Following in some famous footsteps including Madonna, Naomi Campbell, and other recognizable faces is edgy new "it" model Lara Stone. The Dutch beauty is set to star in the label's upcoming spring/summer 2010 campaign.

Stone isn't the only hip, twenty-something model chosen by Louis Vuitton, however. Young but experienced Daisy Lowe will also star in upcoming ads for the brand. The previous face of Marc by Marc Jacobs will be starring in a sexy shoot showcasing LV's ready-to-wear spring/summer 2010 beachwear range that will also include shoes, bags, and accessories.

Though there's no word yet on particular themes for the upcoming photo shoots, both are guaranteed to be interesting and possibly provide a much-needed infusion of excitement for Louis Vuitton.

Here we have yet another rather wonderful raffia purse from Mad Imports. Experts in raffia and other such eco-friendly materials, the brand's purses tend towards interestingly combined colors and shades.

This fold-over clutch is no different. The woven raffia weaves the blue and green shades together in an intricate wave, leading from the thin elegant base up towards the very simple fold over top. I do think a button would have added an extra feature, but some will prefer the smooth undisturbed lines.

Of course, no matter how pretty this bag is, I need to mention the disadvantages of raffia. After all, it is well known for falling apart easier than leather alternatives, so needs to be treated with delicacy. A clutch does afford the ability to do this as it doesn't swing wildly on your shoulder, but even so the lifespan is shorter.

That said, this purse is perfect for holiday wear, whether for traipsing the beaches in the day or taking to the restaurant in the evening. With that in mind the light cotton lining and breathable raffia work in this purse's favor, as is Mad Imports' way.

American designer Cynthia Rowley has teamed up with surf brand Roxy for a new fashion collection.

The line is set to include Rowley-inspired wetsuits, board shorts, T-shirts, dresses, swimwear, handbags and other accessories. This is Roxy's first designer collaboration, but early indications are that it won't be the last.

"Our mission at Roxy has always been to have one foot in the surf world and another foot in the fashion world," said Randy Hild, executive vice president of marketing at Roxy.

It might seem like a strange pairing, but Cynthia says she loves nothing better than hitting the waves.

"My family and I surf a lot. Just about every weekend in the summer, we go to Montauk, and in the winter we go to the Dominican Republic for long weekends," she explained. "I love that we have this family activity that we all really enjoy."

The Cynthia Rowley for Roxy line will launch exclusively at Barneys New York and Paris' Colette store in March, before being rolled out to Roxy stores and Cynthia Rowley boutiques worldwide. The surf brand may be mixing with the big names now, but it's remaining committed to its affordable pricing policy. That's definitely good news for budget-hunting beach bunnies!

New spring and summer handbag designs have been drifting down recent fashion week runways on the arms and wrists of decked-out models, and the styles we've seen are as varied as the mind can imagine.

In a completely opposite vibe from Versace's "Alice in Wonderland" girl-fest of prints and color, celebrity favorite Proenza Schouler went for sporty and just a little beachy with its recently revealed spring bags. It's quite a change from the uptown chic PS1 tote that made such a splash.

Instead of laid-back sophistication, Proenza Schouler drew inspiration from the surfing and skating world to create a line that includes details such as stripes, animal prints, chunky chains, and neon colors. The look is very specific and not at all neutral or understated, but I've got to call this collection downright cool.

"We wanted something young, something that felt fresh, so we looked to surfing and skating, the things we grew up on," the brand said in a statement.

You only have to take one look at what walked down the runway to understand the inspiration. I can't wait to see some of these up close. I'm guessing they're even more striking than they appear in these pictures.

Felix Rey's bridal collection shows a glitzier side to the brand. Gone is the beachside appeal, replaced with a healthy dose of bling!

The Madison is a clutch styled with modern brides in mind. The flap design and satin trim may be classic, but there's nothing traditional about the shiny chain mesh. This gleaming metallic finish is offset with a band of sparkling crystals.

This purse is larger than many clutches, but I certainly wouldn't call it oversized. It's the perfect size for wedding essentials though, including a small pack of tissues and a lipstick for those after-dinner touch-ups!

The lack of shoulder strap is disappointing, but not altogether unexpected. Clutching a clutch the old-fashioned way is simply more becoming to a bride, although she may wish for that hands-free option when the canapés come out!

This purse would be a delightful contrast to a classic white wedding dress, but it'd look just as eye-catching with any evening ensemble. That versatility makes this wedding purse seem well worth its $260 price tag.

Master jeweler Tom Binns has announced he's broadening his horizons and turning his attentions to handbag design.

Tom's luxury leather accessories line will debut in spring. While many of the details are being kept under wraps, apparently one white leather handbag will feature on-trend metal studs. We'll also be able to grab Tom Binns' purses in three sizes, so perhaps we can expect a mix of small evening and larger day bags. The prices aren't so bad either, with the handbags retailing between $650 and $1850.

But that's not all that's on Tom's plate. He'll also release a soccer-themed collection with Puma. The release of the sporty jewelry and bags will coincide with the World Cup. He's also teamed up with Corto Moltedo to create a limited-edition crucifix-embellished "Sunday" handbag. Yet he still found time to create a collection of wearable sculptures, which we'll see at the Art Basel Miami in December.

They say that there's no rest for the wicked, so Tom Binns must be a very naughty boy!

Today marks the first International Plastic Bag Free Day, a global initiative which encourages everyone to ditch the plastic bags and carry their groceries home in reusable totes.

The event is the brainchild of the United Kingdom's Marine Conservation Society, but it's received support around the world. The organization has a vested interest in abolishing plastic bags after seeing firsthand the devastation they can cause to waterways and marine animals.

"We need as many people as possible to take part to make the day a success and show that one of the most preventable forms of plastic litter can easily be stopped," said the group's Pollution Program Manager, Dr. Sue Kinsey. "Plastic bags are a menace to marine wildlife and blight our landscape. Groups as far afield as Canada and Hawaii are taking part and making this a truly international day!"
