Katherine Fleming is a rising star in the world of accessories thanks to some celebrity fans and new faithful followers. This American designer, who was until recently Design Director of Accessories for Tory Burch, officially launched her own handbag line in the fall of 2008.

With celebrities like Naomi Watts and Agyness Deyn seen toting around her styles, I'm guessing that Katherine Fleming will only get bigger in the fashion world. Her classic and feminine designs aren't particularly edgy, but they are unique takes on traditional bags.

The designer's interesting use of colors, textures, and sheen is showcased in her spring collection, which was inspired by the ocean. This pictured pinkish-colored metallic material, called Goldfish Python, and matte python Ocean Batik are just two examples of the sea-like inspiration of the collection. There's even an iridescent shoulder bag that calls to mind fish scales.

I'll admit that I'm really digging this Hype Agyness Tote. It might not be the most original handbag I've ever seen, but it does have some first-rate qualities that attract me.

You can opt for the wider, semi-traditional style for the Agyness drawstring tote. However, it's this N/S vertical shape that stands out to me as more contemporary and unique.

It's not completely individual in its own brand category, though, as it's basically a combination of the Hype Jordan Cross Body, for it's snakeskin-embossed material, and the Riba Tote, for the tall shape and drawstring detail. 

Despite that fact, I still like the Agyness' overall look best of all. In this bone-colored leather with gold hardware, it stands alone in its ultra-chic and modern sensibility. If it's supposed to mimic the stylish British model of the same name, it does a very decent job at it.

Real leather purses hardly come cheap nowadays, but this Hype handbag's price tag isn't as hefty as other designers. For $275, the Agyness N/S Tote will go well with all kinds of outfits and take you throughout the day easily with its double handles and detachable strap.
