Bulgari has gone back to the vault to celebrate its 125th anniversary. The Italian luxury brand has revived classic collections – the Doppio Tondo, Leoni, Collezione 1910, and Twist – but given them modern makeovers.

The Doppio Tondo line retains the distinctive double overlapped round metallic rings engraved with the double "Bulgari" logo. These double rings take inspiration from the infinite loop, reminding us of the classic styling the brand represents. The wine red and forest green shades are new though, the jewel tones ideal for the cooler weather ahead.

We see the double logo again in the Twist, although this time it's printed on a duo of medallions. This season the line has a more relaxed feel thanks to the drawstring closure.

The Leoni bags are also a little more casual this time around, with their rounded corners. The original handles and clasps have also been moved to the center of the purse for a bold new look.

The Collezione 1910 hearkens back to the year the first Bulgari store opened in Rome. The collection features the brand's original Art Nouveau style advertisement printed on leather, oiled linen, or cotton canvas. Calfskin trimmings and handles add a little luxury to the less decadent fabrics, while the leather receives a special treatment for everyday use.

The retro Bulgari bags aren't cheap, with the leather purses clocking in at a few thousand a piece, but the classic styles might be worth a splurge.

This Whiting & Davis design is truly a unique find. With its combination of texture, material, and vibrant color, the Lizzy Clutch makes for one fun, little evening bag.

The overall silhouette is fairly typical for a clutch. However, the structured and geometric v-shaped closure and bottom panel that meet in the middle combined with slightly gathered panels on the sides provides an interesting contrast.

It's the use of material that makes the Lizzy stand out, though. The sides are constructed with Whiting & Davis' signature metal mesh that gives the brand its undeniable vintage vibe. When that mesh meets up with lizard-embossed leather, however, the design takes on an appealing contemporary twist.

You can get the Lizzy Clutch in a neutral silvery gray, but the turquoise and hot pink choices definitely have more personality and really set of the contrasting textures. Plus, the pop of color is right on trend for cocktail parties and other dressy events this season. This Whiting & Davis handbag retails for $150.

Carlos Falchi has captured his signature style for less with this satchel, part of his capsule collection for department store Target.

Of course, to make this purse so affordable there are compromises made. There's not a hint of genuine python in the snakeskin collage body. The glossy finish probably gives that away, but by keeping the colors dark the design doesn't look quite as tacky as it could have. The combination of black, forest green, and charcoal gray PVC is striking and ideal for winter weather. And let's not forget, while real leather shows stains quickly PVC simply wipes clean.

The interior has a much lighter look with its colorful fabric lining. I love the way the Target logo is subtly incorporated into the whimsical printed polyester. The generous space is organized better than most bags in this price bracket, with a cell phone slip, zip pocket, a sunglasses pouch and a key ring holder. You'll also find another zippered pocket on the outside of the bag, just in case you were running out of storage options!

The shape isn't very inspired and the fabrics not very luxurious, but this satchel definitely has the Carlos Falchi stamp. And for just $50, it's an affordable alternative to the designer's high-end accessories.

I'm fairly certain that the words "pretty" and "nylon" don't go together all that often when it comes to high fashion, but evidently Marc Jacobs is attempting to change that with the Pretty Nylon Tate collection from his trendy designer line Marc by Marc Jacobs.

It's by no means the first time a designer brand has utilized nylon for a handbag. Even Kate Spade has gotten in on the action with her Coney Island Stevie Satchel. This use of the sturdy material on the Tate, however, is not particularly compelling to me despite its popular label.

The Pretty Nylon Tate is indeed made from durable, easy-to-take-care of nylon and could be called cute, in my opinion; but I'm just not completely sold on the pretty part. It's certainly not unattractive, but it's no Loopy Bow Pouchette or other feminine Marc by Marc Jacobs design.

On the other hand, I like the unique logo topstitching that covers the tote but doesn't stand out too much. It's just enough to add a little something to the simple design. The knotted handle rings are a nice touch as well. In addition to the practical material, the Pretty Nylon Tate has convenient double side pockets on the exterior as well as a very roomy lined interior for carrying around tons of stuff.

If your budget can stretch further you may consider the Dalia in buffalo leather or even python. Our alternatives aren't limited to fabrics either, with Bulgari releasing many different colors of this celebrity favorite.

I love the Dalia's sexy curves and soft, sensual pleats. The hardware is kept to a minimum; small buckles on the side and the logo embossed double ring in the center give a flash of metallic gleam while keeping the bag's classic looks intact.

This is an enormous bag, make no mistake, but as it doesn't dwarf the frame of its celebrity fans us mere mortals should be able to handle it. I'd have appreciated more than a the tiny zippered pocket and cell phone slip to keep such a large space organized, but I think carrying such a delicious piece of arm candy would be worth the extra effort!

Embossed leather is the way to go when you want the look of exotic material without the price tag. Whether using the technique on real leather or manmade material, brands have caught on to the popular trend, and embossed bags of crocodile, ostrich, snakeskin, and more are flooding in.

There are two things about this croc-embossed Brasilia satchel from B. Makowsky that set it apart from some other embossed bag candidates. First, the leather is real and soft, which is a signature of the label but not always the case with other brands. Second, the crocodile texture is somewhat subtle and spread out instead of compact and busy like some embossing.

These two factors, when combined with the Brasilia's other attractive qualities, make for a very decent handbag style. I wouldn't call it a simple design due to the other design features, such as the top corner panels, buckled details, and half-moon front zippered pocket. However, the details together somehow don't overwhelm the style but rather come together in a very appealing way.

The Brasilia is available in this E/W satchel shape as well as a smaller satchel and N/S shopper. This light "vachetta" brown is a nice, neutral choice as are the dark brown and black options, but the deep blue "pacific" color is both pretty and unexpected. This B. Makowsky satchel retails for $278.

We all have outfits that call for a slightly dressier than average type of handbag, but budgets often don't accommodate for the prices of Swarovski-studded, intricately detailed designer styles. For a truly affordable evening bag, Magid is definitely one of the brands to seek out.

Though you won't get super high quality materials, this brand has some really nice options for dressy accessories under $50. This Crystal Stone Clutch might not live up to the standards of other jeweled handbags, but the $43 price tag and simple design are worth considering when your pocketbook is calling for cutbacks.

The design is basically a simple fabric zippered pouch with silver and black manmade jewels sewn on in a random pattern. I actually really like the somewhat haphazard layout of the stones. It detracts from the quality of the actual jewels, and the interesting pattern fits right in with current trends. It's too bad that the feature doesn't continue on the back, but that's not completely unexpected for this type of purse.

As with most budget-friendly bags, I wouldn't take this one through too much use or you might see some wear and tear on it, especially with the sewn-on stones. However, since it's meant to function as an evening bag, which is only required occasionally, that probably won't pose much of an issue.

Finding a cross-body purse that can fit more than a wallet and keys can be challenging, but Botkier has stepped up to fill the fashion void with the Taylor.

This bohemian styled satchel is crafted from buttery soft Italian lambskin for that hobo-style slouch. Tiny pinched pleats create stripes from the top to the base. Thin, sparse tassels hang down to create a hippie vibe which is a little more sophisticated than heavy fringing can be.

The exterior doesn't feature any obvious branding, instead preferring to let the gold logo plate and signature lining inside do the talking. The zippered pocket and single cell phone slip probably aren't quite enough to keep a space of this size properly organized, but I'm willing to forgive that little misstep.

You've got the option of carrying the Taylor using the two shoulder straps, or the much longer cross-body one. Whichever way you wear it, the Taylor oozes hippie cool without looking like a Woodstock relic.

The Chinese Laundry Addison Tote is a little confusing at first glance. The shape is both structured, yet gathered and slouchy at the same time. There's quite a bit going on with this handbag, but the blend of details is unique and interesting.

The Addison's relatively square silhouette, though a common feature of a tote, is given some depth with gathers and folds that culminate to a decorative buckled feature on one side of the front of the handbag. It has the appearance of being somewhat random and a little all over the place, but the gathered detail is given a purpose and placement with the addition of the buckle.

The back of the tote bag does not feature the same technique but does have a slightly loose look due to the gathered material around the handle rings. It complements the look of the front but offers a little relief from the detail, which could otherwise make the bag seem a tad overworked.

This Chinese Laundry design is available in a handful of neutral colors including brown, gray, and black. It might not be real leather, but the use of synthetic material prices it at an affordable $84.

Coach's Poppy Collection is all glitz, glam, and youthful designs. Although this patent leather Glam Tote isn't quite as bodacious as some of the sequined designs from the popular line, the shiny look fits right in with Poppy's signature style.

The simple square-shaped silhouette of the Glam Tote is nothing extraordinary, to be sure. It's really just your classic, basic tote bag with a few zingy details to spice things up.

This version of the Glam contrasts glossy patent leather with grosgrain ribbon accent on the handles and running down the front and back of the handbag. Two convenient exterior zippered pockets are decorated with silver-toned o-ring pulls, as is the bag's main zipper closure on top.

I suppose patent leather wasn't quite enough glam for a bag named Glam, which must be why Coach added an extra glitter logo hangtag in addition to the one in patent.
