The 15th Anniversary Satchel is a bit of a blast from the past, as it features the label's first print, the SeatbeltBug. The creepy crawly pattern is given a modern makeover with Harveys new blue lagoon color. The Anniversary Satchel is pretty reasonable for a bag marking a milestone at just $138.

If you love the lagoon hue but aren't a fan of the Anniversary Satchel, don't worry. This new color is available on a range of totes, a wallet, and a make-up case. Bold magenta and black and white patchwork bags in the same shapes are also new this season.

It's not a limited edition line, but it'd be remiss not to mention Harveys new Bamboo Stella Hobo. While it's nowhere near as luxurious, the label clearly takes inspiration from Gucci's bamboo handled bags. It might not be as opulent as a high-end handbag, but the espresso color and distinctive carry strap give it a bit more class than your average Harveys accessory.

The new Harveys bags, including its 15th Anniversary Satchel, are available from a range of boutiques around the world including the label's online store.

It makes sense for Salvatore Ferragamo to create a purse like this. Similar top handled satchels are enjoying a fashion renaissance, and the high end label is always on trend. The classic flap-over design and polished clasp give this satchel the right amount of retro flair, but I also appreciate its modern touches.

It's much larger than the average top-handled satchel. That's a real blessing, because modern misses need to carry the gadgets women in the fifties couldn't have imagined. It's also a bit slouchier than the average retro satchel. That makes it feel a little more casual than its competitors, but it also maximizes storage space. Overstuffing is virtually encouraged!

The addition of a detachable cross-body strap is another nice contemporary perk. While top handles look the part, they're not very practical when bags are full. Attaching the longer strap does spoil the illusion a bit, but if you've got a busy day ahead you'll be thrilled by its inclusion.

The interior doesn't exceed our expectations, but the pair of media pockets and the larger zippered one is really all we need to stay organized. And if we're still searching for space, don't forget the zippered pocket on the bag.

Salvatore Ferragamo bags are out of the reach of many of us, and at $1950 this one is no exception. However it's so elegant that if you keep the pale leather clean it should look smart for many years to come.

His flagship line is pretty underwhelming, as far as I'm concerned. His diffusion line, however, is kind of perfect. It's trendy, but a little subdued, and totally affordable. This  School satchel is a great example of Michael Kors making affordable look awesome.

This satchel has a tomboy look that I totally go for. It has the style of a saddlebag, but without the bulkiness or awkward shaping. The tailored details are also practical, like the two front pockets that close with a single flap. The buckles, luckily, are just for show, and there's a much more convenient hidden magnetic closure.

Michael Kors calls this color tangerine, but it's a lot tawnier than that. I love the subdued orange hue and the ostrich-embossed leather has a great balance of smooth and rough, shiny and dull. The brushed gold hardware sets off the color of the bag. I'm not a fan of the giant logo hangtag, but it's easy enough to dispose of.

At $350, this bag isn't exactly cheap, but it's definitely a small investment in a bag that will take your through decades.

This handbag has a very unusual look. It seems almost as if two bags have simply been sewn together. That quirkiness will never appeal to everyone, but it helps the Nackie stand out from the pack.

It also makes it very practical, as we're really enjoying the space of two bags in one convenient package. The external bag creates a spacious exterior pocket, perfect for stashing the items you need on hand. The main compartment is enormous, and probably deserves more than the single zip and slip pockets we see. However it's perfect for carrying the bulky items we're often forced to leave behind.

The short handles will never work if the Nackie is full, but Hayden-Harnett's also added a hand-braided strap for cross-body wear. This makes carrying easy, but the bag doesn't look quite as stylish in this mode. It's a really large bag, and if you're petite it'll dwarf your frame. I wouldn't disregard it if you're on the small side, but it may work better as a weekender or piece of carry-on luggage rather than an everyday satchel.

Whatever you use it for, you're likely to see value for your $428. That's a steal for any bag made of such luscious shrunken lambskin!

I like the interest the studs add to this very traditional black satchel. Its main compartment is spacious and well appointed, with a generous zippered pocket and pair of open pouches for gadgets. The handles are a shade too short for over-the-shoulder use, but as Harvey's provided a cross-body strap we really can't complain. This hands-free carrying option is so convenient I can't imagine removing it!

Those seat belts make the Studly as tough as it looks. The quality materials ensure we'll see real value for our $354.

I haven't warmed to the label's showier styles, but it gets things right here by looking to classic fashion elements. The Alfie's domed shape has a playful retro feel, while the burnished hardware brings the design into the 21st century. Guess uses the metal sparingly, and keeps its logo blessedly discreet. It looks like the label might finally be learning that less is more.

We couldn't want for more from the spacious interior. It's a great size for everyday use, and well organized with a zippered pocket and trio of open pouches for gadgets and sunglasses. The zippered top and snap button closure offer twice the security. The handles could stand to be a shade longer, as they'll be too short to wear with a winter coat, but that's really the only functional flaw I can see.

I'm not sure the colorblocked versions have the staying power, but this black Alfie should look fresh until its leatherette fails us. Considering it only costs $115, I'm sure you'll see value while the materials hold up.

The trend has prevailed for several seasons, but I'm still wondering when the tide will turn. When it does a subtly colorblocked bag like the Melinda will endure, while ones with wilder color palettes will date quickly.

None of the Melindas is too daring, but if you're looking for a timeless option I think this neutral brown bag is the pick of them. The pop of color on the other versions is pleasing for now, but their longevity is questionable. However at $160, perhaps only the bargain hunters will worry about how long it'll stay in vogue!

Whichever color palette you choose, you'll appreciate the Melinda's practical features. It's a good mid-sized bag arranged well, with a spacious zippered pocket and quartet of open pouches inside and another slip on the back. The handles are a shade too short for my liking, but with a longer attachable strap provided that's no real concern.

The Melinda is part of the new breed of Etienne Aigner bags, a satchel that looks much fresher than its tired logo covered designs. If the label can continue to create such modern accessories for such little money I'll be impressed!

And with very few exceptions, I have continued to be excited by its upscale, minimal designs. But this new version of the Keep It All is, well, honestly, kind of ugly.

The shape of the Keep It All is as classic and beautiful as always. It looks something like a Birkin, but with a few more bells and whistles. So it isn't the design per se that's destroying the look of the bag. It's the material. The gray canvas alone would be fine, as would the python embossed leather. But together they're a bad choice. An eye-catching, overwhelmingly distracting bad choice.

The textural combination leaves a lot to be desired as well. Unlike the color combination, there's simply not enough contrast between the nubbly grain of the canvas and the somewhat smoother embossing on the leather. The lack of differentiation takes away from both.

Like I said, though, the design of the bag is solid and practical. So, if you're looking for something different and have $1,250 handy to spend on a somewhat unwieldy conversation piece, you're in luck. Otherwise, I'd just opt out.

This gentle design is different to the colorful bags many labels release during summer. It doesn't scream nearly so loudly, which should make it very versatile. I imagine it'll work with most apparel in your daytime warm weather wardrobe, although I can't imagine the casual purse will make the transition to the evening or the cooler months.

I just feel like I've seen it all before. Natural toned woven straw is a summer staple, and it always looks good paired with white leather accents. However because it feels so familiar it's easy to overlook. I appreciate that Calvin Klein has attempted to give us options with a gold-trimmed version and another zebra one, but these don't quite resonate either. Would you rather a daring but ultimately unsatisfying color scheme, or a boring one?

To be fair the Laguna's interior offers more than I expected. This is no simple beach tote. Its main compartment features a pair of slide pockets, a duo of zippered ones, and a credit card organizer which allows us to leave our wallet behind.

Those functional features might just get the Laguna over the line. This satchel hasn't wowed me, but for an affordable $168 Calvin Klein ensures we see value.
