It's not quite the edgy rock and roll inspired purse it intends to be, but it's getting there. The long center zip and front flap pockets call to mind a motorcycle jacket. The black vinyl has all of the edge of the black leather garment, although substantially less quality. However it does see this shoulder bag priced at just $72, which is just right for a teen handbag.

The glittery finish on the flaps undermines the Double Vision's edginess, but it's also what we'd expect from a teen label. It's not a deal breaker, but it does remind us that this purse isn't for most grown-ups.

While its design isn't perfect, and its quality a little under par, I can't fault the Double Vision's functionality. Its fully lined interior is enormous, and its pair of patch pockets and zippered pouch is just what we'd expect from a high-end label. Sure, we'd expect those designers to use something better than polyester and line those pockets with leather, but at least the features here do the job.

I'm sure teens will graduate to a more polished purse once their budget allows, but until then this one does the job with more style than the average XOXO accessory.

This is one over-embellished accessory. XOXO's tween target audience might love all those bows and the edgy decorate chain, but when paired with the pleated pewter vinyl it simply looks messy. Metallic materials need to be treated delicately lest they seem tacky, but there's no restraint shown here.

The vinyl material is also a predictable letdown. XOXO never uses luxurious materials, but when it attempts to mimic leather it's always a dismal failure. The vinyl is shiny and thin, with that plastic like finish that never appeals.

I could perhaps forgive all that if XOXO had made the Bold Catch functional, but it's really not. It's small, perhaps blessedly so. I don't think any of us really wants to see a bag this unattractive on a larger scale! But it won't hold much of anything, which should be the handbag's whole point!

Bags like this one really release the fashion snob in me. I don't suggest that mini fashionistas should follow Suri Cruise's lead and carry around handbags worth thousands, but there are many cheap and cheerful purses that look much more elegant than this ugly XOXO one.

Frankly I'm unimpressed by this bag. Signature prints have never been my cup of tea, and this one is even more disappointing. The tattoo style pattern seems to be trying too hard to be cool, like a pesky little sister emulating the fashions worn by an older sibling. The reptilian trim also seems a bit desperate, and frankly unnecessary.

While the look leaves me cold, the Tattoo You isn't a bad bag once you get down to it. It's got plenty of space for essentials and extras besides, and all the pockets we need to keep it organized. When loaded up the bag might get heavy, but we can extend the strap to make carrying your load a bit easier.

At $69.99 this Tattoo You bag doesn't cost a lot of money, which is a good thing because I imagine only tweens with limited pocket money will want it.

This purse reminds me of the label's Name Drop clutch, but on a much larger scale. It's not just the size that gives it its point of difference, but a soft bow on the side. The accent could have been overly feminine, but it's tempered here by the use of black vinyl.

Looking at the Beau it's pretty easy to see XOXO has used vinyl, rather than real leather, which is a bit of a disappointment. At nearly $70 this tote isn't overly expensive, but I've seen more convincing leather alternatives at this price point.

The Beau's generous size is both a blessing and a curse. Of course it allows us to carry everything we need to make it through the day. The open and zippered pockets are up to the task of keeping all those items in order too. But while the interior isn't lacking, the handle isn't up to the task. While the cut-out design is very fashionable, this tote is bound to be awkward to carry once it's full. A removable cross-body strap would have easily solved the problem.

This Beau tote isn't perfect, but at $69.99 it does enough to tempt frugal fashionistas.

All of the right elements are there. The clean crescent shape is traditional, even if its silhouette isn't as slouchy as we'd expect. The matte colors are a welcome change of pace from XOXO's traditional colored signature prints. Those patterns can make XOXO purses appear too juvenile for sophisticated tastes, so opting for a cleaner design seems like a good idea.

But it just doesn't seem to work. While the use of colored panels overlaid against white synthetic could have looked modern, its execution seems a little awkward. Pyramid studs are right on trend, but the hardware appears tacked on here. It's almost like a desperate attempt to appear fashion forward rather than a fully integrated design element.

This purse is quite practical though, with a spacious interior and secure zippered pocket. White sateen may not have been the smartest choice for a lining, as it'll show ink stains and other marks before too long. But at least when the inevitable stains appear, we can zip up the top and forget about them.

This is a different look from XOXO, and one I'm not entirely sure works. But I have to admire the brand's bravery, and its commitment to low prices. The Perfectionist retails for just $52.

Those budding bagistas are the ones XOXO clearly targets here with this colorful "Love" signature print. The white canvas body is the ideal backdrop for the bold multicolored letters and hearts. It makes the print really pop, although I wouldn't be surprised if it gets grubby before long.

A row of studs along the bottom of the bucket-shaped tote completes the modern design. The patent rope handle looks a little out of place here, but it's not a serious flaw. At least it looks reasonably comfortable to carry, and it's long enough to sling over a shoulder. These practical issues will be much more important to a teen anyway.

Practicality seems to be forgotten inside though. Perhaps the white satin lining inspired the tote's name! Whatever the case, it's a serious misstep. I'm sure the lining will be covered in pen marks and lipstick stains before too long. At least the interior is a good size; big enough for essentials and a few luxuries, but not large enough for teens to struggle with.

And the price is right for its demographic too. At $59, this canvas tote will suit girls until they're ready to move on to more sophisticated designs.

The combination of rainbow colors and white trim gives the Waterside tote an upbeat summery vibe, but if you're game you could definitely use it to brighten up a gloomy winter's day!
