I really love that peacock plume, but I have my reservations about this purse. It feels like The Jesse B. Collection is relying too much on that accent to win us over. If you stripped it away this purse would be downright boring. While the velvet fabric is opulent, the brown color is pedestrian at best. A regal purple or rich navy blue would have been much more dramatic.

I also wonder about the peacock feather's staying power. While it looks great right now, I'm not sure it'll be as pretty once we've held it in our hand for a while. I really wish The Jesse B. Collection had added a strap so we didn't need to crush that delicate plume against our palm.

If it does start looking second-hand, at least we can detach that peacock pin. Sadly though, that will just leave us with a boring brown purse. And that end result doesn't seem like it's worth $95, does it?

This tweed purse's earthy colors mimic the season's changing leaves. The Autumn's shape is familiar to Jesse B. Collection fans, but happily its hues aren't its only defining feature. Rather than the stiff interfacing we see on the label's most recent styles, the Autumn has a soft flexible body. Personally I think this makes it perfect for hand-held clutching, although we can use the long leather handles when we feel like going hands-free.

These handles are another luxury seen on only a few Jesse B. Collection clutches. You'd think they'd push the price up, but just $29.99 it doesn't seem like we're paying a premium for this perk.

As with so many Jesse B. Collection bags, what you see is really what you get. It's spacious as clutch purses go, but its interior is really simple. There's a slip pocket inside, but that's no more or less than most fashion designers offer.

This Autumn clutch isn't the most luxurious on the market, but its seasonal shades and affordable price make a pretty irresistible combination.

Collection takes a break from its traditional frame clutches to create this casual Morgan carpet bag.

Its dimensions may be a bit of a departure for The Jesse B. Collection but all the hallmarks of the brand are there. Its wool material would be familiar for fans. Its houndstooth print is also classic, although its mix of red and black checks makes it feel a bit more contemporary. I like the way this print is complemented by the black corduroy, which also forms the long shoulder straps.

In many ways this is a very traditional casual bag, but the pleats in the front and back give it a little more style. I still wouldn't swan down the red carpet with it, but if paired with the right outfit you might find it's more versatile than you'd think.

The interior is the real let down for me. It's fully lined, but there's no closure and no compartments either. A bag so large really needs some pockets to be practical. All that space is nice, but without anything to help us stay organized it's not very user friendly.

I don't expect the world for $95, but I do expect the basics. The Morgan is cute and classic, but I'm not sure I'd pay that price for a bag with only surface appeal.

This is a simple but elegant purse, with a jaunty black and white bow dressing up the gray tweed body. This is a wonderful wintery material. After seeing so many new springtime bags, it's refreshing to look at one which embraces the current season.

The Jesse B. Collection doesn't veer too far away from its design vision here. The shape and frame top would be familiar to its fans, but the choice of material and that pretty bow help to make it something different. Considering its generous size I'm disappointed there's no shoulder strap, but it shouldn't become too hard to handle unless you overstuff it.

I'm always excited when a good looking bag comes in under that magic $100 mark, so at $95 I think the Coco's price is just right.

At $95, you won't mind stashing it in the closet once the season changes. But for now you can enjoy the traditional styling and classic herringbone patterned fabric. Or you won't. I must admit, the finish does resemble some cushions at my grandma's house. But if you don't mind that old-fashioned look, or rather safe execution, this is a cute number for gloomy, gray days.

The wintery theme continues inside with lush navy blue wool lining. The lack of pockets is disappointing though, although the tote isn't so big that you'd need many. A single zippered pouch would have done the trick for stashing loose change and other small valuables.

It will never set the fashion world alight, but this Macintosh Mini Tote would look lovely paired with a smart blazer or stylish trench.

The Jesse B. Collection helps us embrace that eco-friendly trend with this Surfer Shopping Bag.

Baby blue and orange tones clash delightfully in the art deco print. They may be complementary shades, but it's not a combination we're used to seeing. With so many cotton totes around, it's those unexpected looks which help set this one apart. I love the print, so it's a shame the black logo patch interrupts it. Nameplates can be chic design features, but this one seems simply tacked on.

I'd much rather see The Jesse B. Collection logo inside. That might add some interest to this space, which right now sends me to sleep. Sure, it's big enough to carry all your shopping home. But there are no closures, no pockets, and no pouches. The plain brown fabric lining is the final insult.

The simple design makes me think I could whip this bag up myself given a little time with a sewing machine. I probably could, and with a much more interesting interior, but for just $50 I'm not sure I'd waste my time!

The Jesse B. Collection figures when you're onto a good thing, you should stick to it. The brand's clutches all have the same vintage frame design and slightly squishable round shape. The devil's in the details, whether it's the fabric or the accents.

Here those details are a lovely muted green material and a retro snowflake pin. This accent is detachable, which seems like a strange decision to me. Remove it and the purse goes from sedate but a little different to ho hum. It might look a little old fashioned, but this vintage details is what gives the Kennedy personality.

After all, inside the purse is like so many we've seen from The Jesse B. Collection. Don’t let the plaid fabric lining fool you. This is the same old Jesse B. Collection purse with its small space and single interior slip.

Party girls may find it a little staid, but at $90 the Kennedy makes a great choice for meeting his parents or your next high tea!

Five white buttons secure the reversible cover to the frame-style bag. One side features this chic red and white houndstooth print. The other is bright red wool, perfect for the cooler weather to come this year!

The removable cover idea is an interesting take on the reversible bag trend. By reversing only the cover, rather than turning the entire bag inside out, the interior can be a functional carrying space. It's just a shame that The Jesse B. Collection didn't exploit that. The satiny white lining is lovely, but bound to show lipstick stains and pen marks before long. There are no pockets either. While a space of this size doesn't really need organizational aids, a cell phone slip would have been handy.

Also impractical are those wooden handles. Again, they're gorgeous, but despite their smooth finish they won’t be comfortable if you're on the go. A shoulder strap may not have had the same mod appeal, but it would have been much more convenient.

This Jesse B. Collection Bermuda bag is unique, making it a real conversation starter. But I see it as more of a novelty than an everyday companion.

There's no traditional closing device, but the frame design helps the purse stay shut. Open it up to reveal a space which is a little too slender to be truly practical, but stunning all the same. You’ll fit only evening essentials inside, unless you don't mind unsightly bulges, but the lovely silk moiré lining is almost enough to make me forgive its shortcomings.

With a cute and cheery strawberry button on the neutral fabric, this clutch is very 50s. After all, it would look fabulous with polka-dot swing skirts and gorgeous red heels.The outer fabric may be surprisingly dull for such a kitsch bag, in a pale shade of brown, but at least it draws attention to the tiny quirky feature and inspiration behind its strawberry patch name.

The inside is much more fun, with a miniature polka-dot red lining. The frame is swathed in the material and the inside bereft of multiple pockets, but it is still oddly charming.

All and all this Jesse B. purse is a gentle attempt at looking retro and vintage. The effort may not quite work, but the strawberry theme is sweet!
