The range features 46 bags in all, with a selected number to be unveiled in the world's major style capitals during their Fashion Week celebrations. Each bag features the same structured ladylike shape, but the unique accents and fabrics give each one its own personality.

The satchel-style purses are hand made from an eclectic mix of materials, and finished with unique processing techniques. The mix of exotic skins including crocodile, teju, python, and ostrich alongside lurex jacquard, linen, patch brocade, and glittery fabric ensures the range is full of head-turners.

The first crop of 16 has just dropped to coincide with New York Fashion Week. It seems the release isn't the only thing Miu Miu plans for the Big Apple either. It's throwing a party on Valentine's Day cryptically called The Woman Dress. Fashion insiders suggest the bash will mark the next release of Miu Miu's cinematic endeavor, Miu Miu Women's Tales Saga. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

By releasing the line piece by piece, I think Miu Miu should create some serious anticipation for the next installment, don't you? Look for the limited edition Miu Miu handbags exclusively in the world's fashion capitals this year.

I have to wonder what the folks at Miu Miu were smoking when they came up with this design. Who is responsible for taking stunning taupe watersnake skin and covering it in ugly black star shapes? I'll bet that poor serpent that gave his life to create it is turning in his grave right now.

The fractured star print is interesting, and on another purse I might even appreciate it. I can picture it on a simple canvas bag, but not on something so esteemed as snakeskin. It's already got a pattern, those beautiful natural scales, and it doesn't need anything else muddying it.

The simple interior is a blessed relief. The sumptuous gray satin lining and array of practical pockets is just what I'd hoped for. It's even a decent size, even if it is on the slender side. It'll require some careful packing, but it should hold everything you really need when you step out.

Considering its high quality materials, Miu Miu has every right to charge $1250 for this bag. However we've also got every right to turn our noses up at it.

The luxurious snakeskin evening bags are available in three pastel colors: powder blue, pale pink, and a creamy beige hue. Each one is finished with golden hardware accents and a complementary chain shoulder strap.

The new Houston boutique is located in The Galleria's luxury wing, alongside big name designers like Omega, Jimmy Choo, and Prada. Architect Roberto Bachiocchi stamped Miu Miu's signature style on the 300-square-meter space, which was previously occupied by Bailey Banks & Biddle. Inside you'll find ready-to-wear apparel, footwear, accessories, and of course a comprehensive handbag collection.

The Galleria's marketing director Nicole Delmer said she was excited to bring Miu Miu's only Houston outlet to local residents.

"We're striving to bring exciting new store options people can't get anywhere else," she explained.

You'll need to visit the store quickly if you hope to snap one of these limited edition purses up, as there are only 15 bags, five in each color, available. Each one costs $2350, which probably isn't a bad deal for purses produced in such limited quantities. Do you hope to find one underneath your Christmas tree?

The company posted a net profit of €93.6 million, or roughly $125 million US, which is significantly more than the €89.9 million forecasted.

Much of this success has to do with the label's prestige leather goods. Handbags, wallets, and other leather accessories accounted for more than 56% of Prada Spa's total sales. Footwear was also up by 14% while ready-to-wear apparel enjoyed a modest increase of 3%.

The Asia Pacific region was the most lucrative for Prada. It doubled its sales in the Greater China region, and enjoyed a 45% boost in the Far East. While other figures weren't quite as impressive, all geographic areas recorded growth rates in the double digits, including 21% in Europe and 19% in the United States of America.

We've seen plenty of designer labels increasing their sales of late, but it's still impressive to see the way luxury labels are thriving. After all, retail analysts were sure the uncertain economy would hit fashion houses hard. I guess that no matter how tough times get, us girls are still going to indulge in a few little luxuries!

At 34, Guinevere van Seenus isn't exactly over the hill, but when compared to the young actress used for fall she's virtually a senior!

I loved the carefree and age-appropriate images of Steinfeld we saw in Miu Miu's last advertisements. However the campaign's critics suggested that Miu Miu's adult target audience would be unable to relate to the teen.

With this new Resort 2012 campaign it feels Miu Miu is taking a more traditional approach. Van Seenus' austere expression is a far cry from Steinfeld's much softer appearance. Photographer David Sims hasn't done anything too dramatic with the staging here. It allows the clothes and accessories to shine, although it's also quite boring. I feel like I've seen this ad before so many times, don't you?

Funnily enough, I can imagine Steinfeld looking fabulous wearing these clothes. I'm a little younger than van Seenus, but I can't imagine donning that beaded headband or the rhinestone encrusted bracelet. They'd appear cute on Steinfeld, but van Seenus appears like mutton dressed as lamb.

Do you approve of Miu Miu's new model choice, or do you think it should have given Hailee Steinfeld another shot?

This clutch is generously sized and luxuriously lined in nude colored leather. Its dimensions make it perfect for stuffing underneath your arm, but we also get a leather strap for hands-free carrying. The strap looks gorgeous, and makes a more comfortable alternative to the typical chain variety.

This purse really makes us feel pampered now, and I imagine it'll continue to do so for many seasons. That luxurious longevity helps to justify its substantial but not altogether unreasonable $1495 price tag.

If you're planning on shopping up a storm this Fashion's Night Out, (and let's face it, who isn't?), you may want to make time in your itinerary to stop by Miu Miu. The Italian fashion house will sell four limited edition mini clutches in all participating Fashion's Night Out stores around the world.

These small evening purses take their cues from Miu Miu's retro inspired fall 2011 collection. These tiny mink, suede, and nappa leather purses hearken back to the 1940s golden age of Hollywood. They're on a much smaller scale than most Miu Miu purses, but the micro-quilted workmanship is just as high class as the regular accessories.

I'm particularly fond of the burgundy suede clutch. Which one has stolen your heart?

These purses are super cute, and I'm crossing my fingers that perhaps their small stature might see them costing a little less than the regular versions. I won't hold my breath though, as limited edition lines often tend to demand a premium. And goodness knows they're sure to fly off the shelves on Fashion's Night Out as everyone will be in the mood to shop. I suggest making an early stop in at Miu Miu if you hope to get your mitts on one!

Fortunately, this wool tote falls into the latter category. It's the very definition of low key feminine charm.

The wool felt fabric of the bag is perfect for the style. It's got a sweet softness, but it's also sturdy, and holds the structured look beautifully. The color couldn't be more timeless. The look is a bit winter/fall, but we're heading there soon enough.

This simple satchel style needs no embellishment, and luckily, Miu Miu hasn't added any. The clean, rounded edges of the back soften the look up slightly without taking away from the overall sleek design. The clean lines of the gold top frame accent the shape, and bring out the coolness of the color. The slim shoulder strap isn't the epitome of practicality, but it'll do the job well enough.

This is a beautiful bag that could work in many wardrobes and will never look dated. What more can you ask for?

Miu Miu Suede And Leather Shoulder BagI've had a really back and forth relationship with Miu Miu's bags over the past few years. They're usually really expensive and, unfortunately, seldom seem worth it. This leather and suede hobo is expensive, but it's pretty cool if you're into hippie chic and have the pocketbook to back it up.

The colors are really well chosen, for one thing. The olive suede has a lush velvety look, which goes beautifully with the weathered brown leather. I'm not entirely convinced that the black accents were necessary, but they aren't distracting, either.

The shape of the bag is great. I really love flap front hobos, as they are slightly more structured and easy to manage than the open top variety. The bag still manages to look slouchy and casual in a really appealing way. The only thing I really question about the design is the rolled leather handle. It seems like it would just fall right off your shoulder.

At $1,350, this is a pricey boho accessory, and frankly, I think you might be able to do better unless it hits your aesthetic right on the mark.

Miu Miu Padded Leather ToteHoly change of heart. I have been so down on Miu Miu. I've called it everything from inconsistent to over-the-top. I'm not exactly taking it back, but some of its designs have really been impressing me, lately. This padded leather tote is definitely one of them.

The black leather material of the bag balances texture and softness beautifully. It's weathered enough to make the tailored look a little more casual and wearable than it could have been. The result is really welcome, as it makes it a bag that is dressy enough for the office, but not at all stuffy.

The shape of the bag is classic and such a perfect combination of soft and structured. It's basically a messenger bag design with a few small bells and whistles. Actually, there really isn't much embellishment, but the sassy strap buckles and gold clasp pack a stylish wallop. This bag is as practical as it is beautiful, with multiple adjustable strap options and a well-organized interior.

At $1,450, this bag is a little pricey, but it's so classic and timeless that it will be money well spent for years to come.
