The So Lovely's design is very simple, which might be why it's so endearing. Jessica Simpson has been guilty of over-embellishing many of her handbags, so it's refreshing to see one that's more reserved. A golden bar cinches in chocolate brown leatherette, revealing the fawn colored material underneath. The effect looks a little like a bow, with its pretty pleats. It's a gorgeous interpretation of the colorblocked style, subtle but still eye-catching.

I'm less enthused about the snake printed alternative. The scales are so busy that the pleats get lost in all the mottling. It's also not a very convincing mimic, so unlike the matte leatherette the material appears just as cheap as its price tag suggests. I'm all for maintaining the illusion of opulence!

The So Lovely is quite small but it's well organized, with a slip pocket and quartet of card slots. Those slots are particularly impressive as we don't risk scratching the magnetic strips on our credit cards. A zippered pocket for coins would have come in handy, but we can't expect too much for this price.

At just $58 this pretty Jessica Simpson clutch is just as lovely as its name suggests!

Jessica Simpson has never been a fashion pioneer, so perhaps it's unsurprising to see this wristlet plays it safe. However while it's not a trend setter, it's still quite stylish. I'm particularly impressed by the faux leather, which is much more plush and less shiny than Simpson's usual synthetics.

While the Abby looks a bit pedestrian from the outside its interior is especially noteworthy. The space is kitted out with a zip pocket and eight credit card slots, so you can leave your wallet behind and use the interior for more important things. It's not enormous, but it is big enough to carry everything you really need.

The wrist strap is a convenient addition, but it would have been more appealing if it were removable. While I always appreciate a hands-free carrying option, it looks quite casual. It we could detach it the Abby might have seen us through until after five.

It doesn't dazzle, but for $34.99 it doesn't need to. That super cheap bottom line should be enough to lure bargain hunters in.

While the Naomi has a hint of slouch, it's much more structured than most bags of this style. It's also shaped more like a bucket bag than a classic crescent hobo. These differences go some way towards making the Naomi more sophisticated, but the skin is the finishing touch. The leather-like surface is embossed with crocodile scales, which make it appear richer than its price tag would suggest.

Admittedly fashion snobs would never fall for the trickery. The skin is quite thin, and it has the telltale sheen we find on so many cheap synthetics. The embossing is convincing though, and the polished golden hardware brings an extra level of luxury.

The Naomi doesn't leave us wanting for space. The generous main compartment is well appointed with a selection of pockets. Each has been trimmed in more of that synthetic to help it last. A zipper would have offered more security than the snap closure, but if we're careful the existing clasp should do the job.

The vachetta color isn't very exciting, but it is versatile and on trend. It's rare to find a purse which looks so stylish for just $88, but this hobo fits the bill. Jessica Simpson will never be amongst the fashion elite, but she's produced another solid bag with the Naomi.

Given its name, I fully expected this satchel to be a real show pony. However, at least in basic black, this satchel goes just far enough. The studs are small and applied sparsely so they don't appear too much, especially when paired with the silvery buckles and zip accented panels. I love the way this metal pops against the black pebbled synthetic. It's a classic color combination, but one that never fails to create a cool biker vibe.

Note that I did say synthetic, rather than real leather. That's nothing new for Jessica Simpson, and certainly nothing new for a bag costing only a little more than $100. I wouldn't say the synthetic is luxurious, but it's far from the worst leather impersonator that I've seen.

The material is really the only area where Jessica Simpson has cut corners. The interior features a zippered pocket and pair of slips for personal technology. There's even a clip for your keys.

Not all Prima Donnas are created equally though. While matte colors like black, luggage brown, and garnet look classy, the sickly vachetta pink and animal print alternatives leave a bit to be desired. Which one will you choose?

The problem is that this duffel tries too hard to be a fashion rebel. Its large looped buckles definitely draw attention, but I'm not sure it's the right kind. Frankly I think they look a bit messy, especially on a relatively small canvas. That's even more pronounced on the stone printed snakeskin bag, where the mottled python print further muddies the look.

While some finishes are more successful than others, I have to admire Jessica Simpson for offering choice. If the heavily marked stone snake isn't to your taste, you might prefer the plain black anaconda embossing. There's also pebbled leatherette in black, white, and brown.

Personally I think this blue denim is the pick of them though. Try as you might, it's hard to make a man made skin seem stylish for less than $100. It's always just a bit too shiny and thin to really impress. By not pretending to be anything that it's not, the denim version appears much richer than its sisters.

If you like the look, you're not going to be disappointed by the Tribeca's features. It's not especially large, but it should have enough space to hold everything you really need on an average day out. Organizer pockets in the side walls are also on hand to help you keep your necessary items in order. And remember, there are also those gusseted pockets at the sides for those goodies you need on hand.

The Tribeca isn't Jessica Simpson's best bag, but at an affordable $88 it's still a very tempting proposition.

The Bliss tote isn't a bad tote per se, but it's far too ordinary to deserve such a glowing moniker. The crocodile embossing is okay, but nothing to write home about, and the puckering around the base of the bag seems really awkward. I don't mind the camel color, or any of the other hues available, but they are also a bit underwhelming. It's all very pleasant, but incredibly middle of the road.

The interior shows a little more individuality, with its zippered central compartment, side pockets, and handy key clip. These functional features work with the zippered back pocket to create the kind of bag that makes staying organized easy.

But does anyone really think keeping our cargo in order is blissful? Even for a relatively affordable $98, I think Jessica Simpson has missed the mark here.

There's a real vintage charm about this purse, from its golden turn-lock to its kiss-lock clasp. But the leopard printed body punches things up a bit, taking it from old Hollywood glamour to retro rockabilly. I'm not always a fan of this classic animal print, but on such a traditional design I think it makes things just a little bit different.

The Whitney looks like most clutches, very cute but not very practical. But there's more to this purse than meets the eye. With the kiss-lock on top, I originally assumed the turn-lock was a mere decoration. However it actually hides a pocket. There's another one tucked away beneath the flap on the back. And that's all before we even get inside!

There we see a zippered pocket and a long strap. This helps the Whitney easily convert from a clutch to a cross-body. I can imagine using the Whitney in hands-free mode during the day, then dressing it up and taking the strap off once the sun goes down.

If you've been charmed the price is likely to seal the deal. You'll find the Whitney for just $42.

This tote has modern looks without the luxury price tag, or luxury materials. The glazed leatherette looks a bit too shiny to ever pass as the real deal, but its distressed finish adds the right amount of rebellion to the Spellbound. This edge is only enhanced by the brushed brass studs. I'm not always a fan of studs, but the rows of metal make the side pockets and tab flap appear that much more appealing.

Those pockets are perfect for stashing the goodies you need on hand, while the generously sized interior has what it takes to handle the rest. Jessica Simpson's typical gingham print lining is abandoned for a more sophisticated black faille. The pockets are trimmed in more of that synthetic leatherette to make sure they stack up to daily use.

The Spellbound's design is a bit chunky to appeal to everyone, but there's definitely a rebellious charm to it! If it's bewitched you, it can be yours for $98.

I really like the structured ruffles which add a flirty punchy to this traditionally shaped satchel. My problem comes when Jessica Simpson tries to confuse the look. In matte tones like this sienna orange it's lovely, but in the crocodile and watersnake versions it gets a bit busy and confused. That's especially true in the multicolored alternatives; the ruffles get lost and we're never quite sure what we're meant to be focusing on.

The interior is much simpler, with its plain black faille lining, zippered pocket, pair of open pouches, and key clip. There are just the right amount of pockets, and while the lining is simple it won't show any stains.

The choice of carrying options is great in theory, but the longer cross-body strap has its fault.  It's the sort of thing you'd attach when the bag is really full, so it's a shame that it's so thin. You can expect it to rub on your shoulders at best, and break due to the use of synthetic at worse. The short handle won't make carrying easy if the bag is full, so I guess we'll just have to grin and bear it.

At $88 though, I expect to forgive a few things. This satchel is well priced considering its unique sense of style.

This clutch won't work for a posh soiree, but if you're taking in a movie or hitting a club its urban styling will fit right in. I was beginning to suffer from stud fatigue, but I think the metal has been cleverly used here. The polished gold domes with their slightly menacing points look edgy but smart against the black synthetic body.

I was a little disappointed in the subdued color palette chosen here as I expect something a bit sunnier from the pop star's line, but at least you won't struggle to incorporate the conservative tones into your wardrobe.

This is a great mid-sized purse with more pockets than you'd expect in an accessory with these dimensions. It easily converts from clutch to cross-body with the addition of a long strap, so you can easily work it with jeans during the day or a more dressed-up outfit in the evening.

Jessica Simpson doesn't offer real luxury here, but for a mere $38 I'm impressed with the Lilly's style.
