The photo shoot saw the actress reunited with photographer Peter Lindbergh, who snapped her for last year's Coach autumn/winter 2011 ads. They're also set in New York City, although the metropolis has a different complexion this season. This time around the commercials feel much fresher and more fun, as if the weight of winter has left us and been replaced with all the sun of summer.

Paltrow is no doubt stretched with her acting duties, burgeoning singing career, lifestyle blogging role, and everyday responsibilities as a wife and mother of two. Yet it seems that working with Coach is an opportunity close to her heart.

"I grew up in New York City, and I've always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand," the Oscar winner explained.

I'm particularly fond of this advertisement which shows a fresh-faced smiling Paltrow stepping out carrying the Poppy Willis cross-body purse. The companion commercial sees the actress more relaxed as she lounges about with her red Madison Lindsey satchel.

I love the accessibility of this advertising campaign. I'd much rather see a grinning Gwyneth than another snooty, skinny supermodel, wouldn't you?

Lan's illustrations resemble the traditional ink style paintings created by Chinese masters for generations.  It's no ordinary dragon either. Lan fashioned his creature after Qinglong, a famous Chinese beast known as the Azure Dragon of the East. He's one of four symbols of the Chinese constellation, and he represents both the east and the season of spring. The Chinese people believe the dragon was reincarnated as some of their most famous generals through history and folklore.

I love the way the menacing mythical gold animal pops against Coach's classic signature print. They really elevate the fairly drab colored leather and make it something special. I really like the tote, but if you're not sure about carrying the print on such a large scale you could indulge in a wallet, passport case, or travel organizer.

No prices have been released at this point, but with Coach making an effort to keep their prices reasonable I wouldn't expect this capsule collection to be too exorbitant. Look for the Year of the Dragon accessories soon at your local Coach store.

Black leather is timeless but also a bit pedestrian, so I'm thrilled to see Coach jazzing it up a little. The intricate pleating creates a hypnotic wave effect which is just so striking. It's a shame the golden Coach logo has to break into the design, but at least it's small.

It really seems a tragedy to keep such a head-turning purse tucked away in a larger tote, but I'm not sure its accordion style interior lends itself to use as a clutch. It's a space that really puts finances first, with twelve credit card slots, four open pouches for paper money and receipts, and a zippered compartment for coins. If that's all you need on an evening out you're set, but most of us will probably want space for a cell phone, keys, and cosmetics. And like most wallets there also isn't a drop-in chain. Perhaps it's time to nix the notion of it serving double duty.

It's a shame because this really is the kind of purse you'll want to show off, especially at a not so cheap $248. I could justify that hefty price for clutch with the same finish, but on a wallet I'm just not sure.

It's amazing to see the different qualities the photographers brought out of the accessory, just by changing the approach and backdrop. Ninagawa captured the purse in front of a colorful ferris wheel. Chen Man took a more surreal approach with his image which sees a Coach carrying girl embracing King Kong atop the Empire State Building. Krakoff was also inspired by the movies, although his approach is more indie and less big blockbuster. His photograph shows a bag hung on a balloon in Central Park, a scene which calls to mind the whimsical French film The Red Balloon.

The images were recently showcased at Beijing's Iberia Contemporary Art Centre, an international scale event attended by Krakoff and Coach's current muse Gwyneth Paltrow. It's unclear where the photographs will turn up next, but hopefully an American exhibition is in the works. It'd be a shame for the label's fans in its homeland to miss out on seeing this creative project.

Coach has been successful in its bid to secure a secondary listing on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. It will begin to trade on the Asian country's market on December 1.

Coach already lists on the New York Stock Exchange, but with its plans to increase its profile in Asia it makes sense to secure a listing on the continent. It will reportedly float up to 294 million Hong Kong Depository Receipts, which represent one tenth of Coach's common share, as part of its trading debut this week.

The Hong Kong listing should do more than simply raise its profile in Greater China. It will also allow the American label to attract more Asian investors, particularly in China where it expects the greatest expansion in coming years.

A recent report from leading global financial services company Credit Suisse says Coach stands to make $1 billion, or roughly 14% of total sales, in China by 2016. That's a real jump from the $187.5 million, or 4.5%, it earned in China this year.

I've always seen Coach as more American than apple pie, but I'm impressed with the steps it's taking to raise its global profile. Do you think Coach will succeed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong?

This is one of Coach's most stylish handbags with its elegantly stitched corners, textured handles, and pretty racing stripe. The blue and white colors pay homage to America and Britain, and by extension the coming together of these international design talents.

This Coach handbag has good looks on its side, but there are a few functional features designed to make bloggers giddy. Coach might be as American as apple pie, but in three years the fashion house hopes that China will be its largest market. Not content with the $300 million it expects to make in China by the end of the year, it aims to post $500 million in annual Chinese sales by 2014.

The company isn't deterred by signs of economic slowdown, and plans to open more stores in the region to achieve its financial goals. It will open around 30 stores each year for the next three years in rapidly growing urban centers located just outside China's largest cities. It's confirmed plans to open boutiques in far west Urumqi and Nanning, and we can expect more store announcements soon.

Coach also plans to establish kiosks outside major department stores and build large regional retail spaces to showcase products not shown in its regular stores, including knitted apparel, coats, and fragrances.

To take advantage of the rising number of online shoppers Coach also plans to launch a Chinese e-commerce site by the end of 2012.

China is already Coach's fastest growing market, but it makes sense to chase a bigger piece of the pie. The Chinese have a large appetite for luxury and plenty of disposable income, which proves a pretty potent mix.

Coach is the latest handbag label to team up with an artist for a new accessories line. The American fashion house has worked with Hugo Guinness for its latest limited edition range.

The London-born New York artist has lent his bold black sketches to 17 different accessories including leather wallets, reversible tote bags, key chains and even a set of playing cards. They're from all from Coach's men's line, but I can imagine several pieces, including the wallets pictured, finding a place in the closets of many art-loving women.

Guinness said he was intrigued by the prospect of presenting his art in a brand new format.

"My artwork is usually framed in glass and placed on a wall, the idea of my block prints on totes, accessories — even playing cards — was really interesting to me," he explained. "Coach understood and appreciated the simplicity of my art. When they asked me to create block prints that symbolized the Coach brand, I was intrigued. Coach is a New York institution, so I created what I see every day on the streets of the city — coffee cups, keys, sunglasses, handcuffs."

The Hugo Guinness for Coach line features items at a range of price points, from $68 for the cheapest right up to $398. Look for them next February at the label's website and selected Coach boutiques in North America, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Ireland, France, and London.

Genuine ostrich feathers fall softly from a wide band of hand-sewn beads and faceted jewels. The styling evokes the roaring twenties, although the ostrich feathers bring a modern sophistication to the design.

The unique ball chain is a Coach signature, and it sets off this design perfectly. It's whimsical and just a little different, not to mention a great complement to those feathers. A hands-free carrying option is always a welcome addition, but that goes double when it looks this good. It's detachable, but personally I think those ostrich feathers are too fragile to hold in your hand.

It looks like a glamourpuss, but this Ostrich Feather purse is surprisingly practical. It won't hold the kitchen sink but you should be able to squeeze a few more items inside than you'd expect.

At $398 this beautiful bag costs a lot more than any after five accessory should. That doesn't stop me coveting it though!

We could soon see Coach Inc. on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The American handbag firm has sought approval for a listing through the Hong Kong depositary receipts, which could be approved as early as the first week of November. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is reportedly handling the agreement.

Coach Inc. already has a successful listing on its local New York Stock Exchange. It's thought that it may be the first American company to seek a second listing in Hong Kong.

If the results of other high profile accessories brands are any indication, the joint listing on the Asian market is likely to pay dividends for the brand. Prada SpA raised $2.5 billion when it launched its IPO on the Hong Kong stock market in June. In the same month Samsonite International also listed and raised $1.25 billion. However a company spokesperson says the double listing is more about "marketing than finance."

There's no denying that the Hong Kong listing could raise valuable awareness of the brand in luxury-hungry China. If all goes well Credit Suisse estimates that Coach will generate $1 billion, or roughly 14% of its sales, from the Chinese marketplace by 2016. That's a real jump from the current $187.5 million, which represents around 4.5% of sales, its current 66 Chinese outlets bring in.
