Really it would be a shame to hide a purse so pretty away. I love the way the sparse quilting adds another dimension to the softly ruched leather. While I'd appreciate a few more color options, I can't deny how well it works in gray. The delicate shade is a sophisticated complement to the Delice's feminine design.

Its exterior is so stunning that it's easy to forget that the Delices is a wallet rather than a regular clutch. The cleverly designed interior reminds us swiftly though. Its six card cases might leave shopaholics disappointed, but they'll take care of the essentials. I particularly like the double expanding compartments and the open pouches for bills and receipts.

As is invariably the case with wallets posing as clutches though, the Delices is functional for financial items and little else. If you want to use it as a clutch, I suggest stepping out with someone willing to hold your cell phone and keys! This purse certainly isn't large enough to do it for you!

The Delices' hefty $1200 price says more about its designer heritage than the purse itself, but if you want to indulge in Dior this wallet isn't a bad option.

Christian Dior has released images of its new fall/winter 2012 advertising campaign starring Mila Kunis.

The advertising campaign is the actress' second for the fashion firm, following the spring/summer 2011 commercials.

It's unusual to see all the color in this campaign. While the spring/summer ads saw Kunis smoldering in a black cocktail dress in a smoky looking room, the fall/winter images are much brighter. The 29-year-old starlet glows in a low-cut pink dress and minimalist makeup. The rustic raffia clutch purse also seems more suited to warm weather than the chilly conditions ahead.

Perhaps it's unsurprising that this commercial doesn't look quite right for the season, as Kunis herself admits she's a novice at the fashion game.

"I'm honestly just learning about fashion," she told Women's Wear Daily. "In my daily life, I don't wear the most feminine pieces. But I love to feel feminine when I’m on the red carpet." She added that she finds Christian Dior "an incredibly grounded house" that produces "sophisticated, feminine, and beautiful" accessories and garments.

With that sort of flattery, it seems Kunis is a shoe-in for the fashion house's next advertising campaign! What do you think of her latest modelling work?

I must admit that I feel a bit sorry for Bill Gaytten in this. He's done an admiral job filling in after Galliano's very public fall from grace. In fact, Christian Dior took $1.39 billion in revenue last year, an impressive feat considering the controversy.

However it's hard to argue with Simons' credentials. He did great things for Jil Sander, and if Sander hadn't wanted to return to his own company Simons would probably still be there. He's also sure to make a splash at Christian Dior. In fact, his recent ready-to-wear show in Milan was even compared to the work of the Christian Dior himself. Who knows what profits the company will post in the coming seasons? We'll get some indication when Simons shows his first Christian Dior collection at Paris' runways this July.

While Christian Dior hasn't made an official statement, Simons commented "The first time I heard about the Dior position, I thought, this feels right" after the announcement of his appointment.

When Galliano was shown the door after his anti-Semitic comments I wondered what sort of hit the fashion firm would take. However in the last quarter the company more than doubled its profits. It made a whopping $118.4 million buoyed by booming in-store sales, which were up by 28%.

This is no rapid turnaround either. The fashion house has been steadily growing ever since Galliano was axed. It gained a larger market share and increased its sales in the first half of 2011, and posted an even larger revenue boost after the year's third quarter.

More than a year has passed since Galliano's very public fall from grace. All the bad press from that black spot has died down. The media barely batted an eye when Bill Gaytten's first ready-to-wear collection hit stores.

Clearly the status quo is working for Christian Dior, so I wouldn't be surprised if the label continues to drag its feet. Perhaps it will even officially give Gaytten that coveted creative director job. You can’t argue with the numbers!

Mila Kunis might have fronted Christian Dior's last advertising campaign, but that doesn't mean the fashion house has forgotten all about its long serving Lady Dior, Marion Cotillard. The French actress is back as the face of Lady Dior handbags in Christian Dior's latest commercials.

Peter Lindbergh captured Cotillard at the Communist Party headquarters in her Paris hometown. It seems like an unlikely spot for a fashion photo shoot, but the Oscar Niemeyer designed building is a surprising hot spot for the stylish elite. Prada held one of their famous parties there recently, and it's also hosted Thom Browne and Dries Van Noten's catwalk shows.

I liked Mila Kunis' turn for Christian Dior a few months ago, but in this commercial Cotillard shows why she's been the face of Lady Dior since 2009. The images are effortlessly sensual. Cotillard looks luminous as always, but her presence never distracts us too much from that luxurious crocodile and raffia purse she's carrying. Who do you think makes a better Christian Dior model?

Marion Cotillard's latest Lady Dior commercials will hit the hottest fashion magazines around the globe this May. I'm sure they'll tempt plenty of fashionistas to make a new season purchase!

Each issue will feature eight articles, a number which coincides with the original designer's luckiest digit. These pieces will detail Christian Dior's history and look forward to the future and its latest products.  The full capabilities of the internet will be exploited with features including video footage and share-ready images. It will also host Christian Dior's first ever live streamed fashion show, which will beam into homes everywhere tomorrow.

Christian Dior has hired a fulltime editor-in-chief to collaborate with the company's communications department on DiorMag. However with the first issue now online, it's interesting that this editor-in-chief's identity has been suppressed. That mystery will no doubt intrigue DiorMag's readers. There's less mystery surrounding the involvement of blogger Susie Bubble, who will comment about the streaming fashion show on Twitter during the event.

Christian Dior says it hopes its DiorMag and its associated online ventures will give its fans an insider's look at their favourite fashion house. John Galliano exited Christian Dior in a booze-fueled haze of controversy, so it's interesting to see the its diffusion line's latest advertising taking inspiration from another drunk renegade. The spring 2012 campaign for Galliano pays tribute to acclaimed yet controversial gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson.

Benhamin Eidem is modeled after Raoul Duke, the autobiographical title character of Thompson's novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Just as Johnny Depp did in the film adaptation, Eidem smolders from underneath his bucket hat and yellow lensed aviator sunglasses. Despite meeting some notable women, Duke never had a sidekick. Perhaps if he did she'd look something like Constance Jablonski, who cuts a dramatic figure in her Hawaiian print dress, oversized clutch purse, and wedge heels.

Looking at this attractive twosome makes me want to pack my bags for my own Las Vegas road trip. The commercial really captures the warm weather ahead and sells the clothes and accessories really well.

But does anyone else find it a little strange that a line previously headed by a loud-mouthed loose cannon with a drinking problem is now paying homage to a figure so similar? While Hunter S. Thompson wasn't exactly sympathizing with Nazis he certainly never shied away from controversy.

Mikael Jansson shot the softly lit images of the Ukranian-born actress for the feminine commercials. The moody blue hues don't exactly scream spring/summer collection to me, but the campaign looks gorgeous. Of course Jansson had some great raw materials to work with though in Kunis and Christian Dior's gorgeous dress and clutch purse!

Kunis said she was "thrilled" to join the Dior team, as the brand is "iconic in so many ways. It defines fashion, elegance, and sophistication."

The ads featuring the Black Swan star will grace the pages of European fashion magazines Elle and Vogue and American style bibles New York Times and Vanity Fair later this month.

With a fresh new face on board, perhaps this is a sign Christian Dior is on the up and ready to put all that nasty John Galliano business behind it. Now if it would just announce a new creative director already we'd all be happy! Until then we'll just have to contend ourselves with this stunning new commercial. Marion Cotillard continues to spruik Christian Dior, this time in the label's latest short film. The Academy Award winning French actress stars in the playful flick which is cleverly titled L.A.dy Dior.

Just like the latest print ad, the film is set in Los Angeles. So it's only fitting that Cotillard plays an actress. However I'm sure the part is nothing like the sophisticated French beauty. Unable to deal with the pressures of the film business, Cotillard's character dramatically loses her cool on set.

The other star of the piece is undoubtedly the Lady Dior handbag that acts as Cotillard's constant companion. Its multicolored crocodile finish is so striking that it threatens to outshine the French beauty!

John Cameron Mitchell, the creative visionary behind cult classics like Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus, directed Christian Dior's latest cinematic effort. He was a bold choice, but also one that doesn't really gel with the label's current aesthetic. In my mind the short film should complement Dior's current print campaign, but the pieces feel like polar opposites.

Fashion bible Women's Wear Daily reported that a source close to the Belgian designer says he's close to signing on the dotted line. But there may be a few obstacles in his way before he seals the deal.

The most obvious stumbling block is Simons' contract with Jil Sander. He's been with the firm since 2005, and he recently extended his contract. Christian Dior could probably buy him out of that deal, but that's only if Jil Sander is willing to play.

There's also the not so small matter of Yves Saint Laurent, who are also rumored to be courting Simons. It's been suggested that Stefano Pilati's been on shaky ground at the fashion house for some time, and with his contract expiring in March I can't imagine it will be renewed. Simons would be a great replacement fit for either fashion house, so he might simply look to the highest bidder.

Even if the Christian Dior deal does go ahead, we're getting very close to the release of new season fashions. Dior is likely to want a couture collection by January followed by a ready-to-wear collection by March. That doesn't leave a lot of time for anyone new to put their stamp on the projects, which suggests Bill Gaytten will continue to head up the design work in the mean time.
