Since it's Halloween, I feel obligated to find an ugly designer bag and rip on it because.....well, just because. It would be simple to just find a usual suspect (like Fendi, Versace or Juicy Couture) and pick on it for all the obvious reasons, but I like the challenge of discovering a bag that should have been fabulous and got sidetracked.

The Bottega Veneta Woven Boston Bag is a perfect example of what can happen when a trusted and error-free designer label "jumps the shark".

The satchel's elegant shape and overall design is fine, but then we're hit with a myriad of woven strips clad in every imaginable color. I can't figure out why this bag was ever made and especially by Bottega Veneta.

What's even more egregious than the bag itself is the mind-numbing price tag - $5200! Say what? I wish this were a trick, because it's certainly not a treat. You can pre-order the Woven Boston Bag and receive it some time in March - just in time to use it as a colorful (and expensive) Easter basket.

Why advertise for Louis Vuitton or Prada, when you could carry a bag to promote your own business? Impresa Designs has developed the id-bag, a handbag which expresses your corporate identity rather than someone else's!

"The id-bag is good for people who like to network a lot and can and it costs less than a printed ad," said its creator Mary Brophy. She adds that it's easy to strike up a conversation about your bag, and promote your business at the same time. And it seems to be working! From accountants to life coaches, businesswomen across America are trading in their designer purses for id-bags.

"My old laptop was pretty beaten up," admitted id-bags convert Laurie Macomber of Blue Skies Marketing. She says her new notebook will be "nicely nestled" in her id-bag. "I have a lot of branding on my car, so it's perfect for my bag."

Fashion lovers can choose from six bag types including messengers, portfolio bags, and various totes. The handbags are made from your choice of faux suede or twill fabrics, and accented in almost 50 graphic patterns. "The bag designer is you," Mary Brophy explained. "Every woman should be walking around with her initials and her brand instead of someone else's."

You've carried the handbag, and soon you can stay in the hotel! European fashion house Moschino plans to open Maison Moschino in Italy's fashion capital, Milan, next year.  The purse designer revealed its plans at the recent TTG Incontri, an Italian tourism trade show.

Moschino will reinvent the site of the historical railway station on Viale Monte Grappa, 12, for its luxury accommodation.

Moschino's Rossella Jardini and his creative team will develop the hotel's signature look. They will maintain the station’s neoclassical facade, but the interior will reflect Moschino's flair for contemporary style.

Maison Moschino's 54 rooms and 15 suites will be spread across four floors. Every room will have its own unique look, however they will be united by a surreal fairytale theme.

"To sleep is to dream, and dreams are fairy tales that we are allowed to experience first hand," Moschino explained.

The hotel will also feature a bar and restaurant, a gym, and a garden and spa for winding down after a hard work-out.
